PostSubject: World Of Tanks Tournament   Thu 17 Mar 2016, 13:04

We are going to try to do a tourney this weekend:

March Mapness: http://worldoftanks.com/en/tournaments/1000000017/

Our Team, HordeOfChaos: http://worldoftanks.com/en/tournaments/1000000017/team/1000007554/

We need two reserves, we have four tentative primaries, but since the slot is not determined until after teams are confirmed, it is possible we get a slot where one or more people can't be in.

Tentatively we are thinking 3 heavies and a scout. That mix is up for debate.

My initial thought was to have the three heavies travel down likely enagement areas, while having the scout zip safely around, the first time it spots something it disngages, the heavies flex over and the scout can flank once shots are fired.

Another tactic might be to have two heavies and two mediums, if we travel in a pack, the heavies could pin down opponents while the meds wing out on either flank.

I just looked at Fish's tanks and since he probably doesn't currently own a T5 heavy (I was wrong he does), but he probably still owns his AT2 TD, there is an interesting tactic that we could try that many wouldn't expect.  Two heavies, the AT2 and a fast medium to push the AT2.  Everyone sticks together, once the fight is joined we protect the AT2s flanks and allow it to bounce shots while we all farm dmg.  Smart teams are going to leave the AT2 until last, but only facing T5s, there aren't many guns that can pen it and even if he is the only one left he might get us a win.  Unconventional.

But, of course:
“No Battle Plan Survives Contact With the Enemy” - Helmuth von Moltke

If, between battles, we can change tanks, that will allow us to adjust our mix to each others play styles.  Though, we will be limited to whom owns what.

In a mix with a scout, I could run a Chaffee or Z could run an ELC.  ELC has a much better gun and lower profile, but no turret.  Chaffee has better view range.  What we don't want is a scout with low pen, because every gun counts

Our group is tonight at 9, if all 4 could play looks like we could get a couple competitive battles.

What we might have to deal with is teams with 4 O-I Experimentals on them. That will kind of suck. There may be ways to play their poor view range and thin armor against them, if we engage from a distance where their crappy accuracy lets us survive long enough.

Well, we went 1 and 8 the first round, forfeited the second two rounds (thanks Derpgun), and have the fourth round at 18:00 today. Probably going to forfeit the 5th round also (Thanks Z).

Well, since we only got two rounds in, we didn't win any goodies, we actually were 1 point away from being in the 85%-90% group that got something. Which made us in the 91%.
