I saw the Lowe is around $50 but I'd rather have a heavy or medium if Im gonna pay real money for one.

Saw the church hill for bout $10 but then I thought, I can spend more then that for a tank!

Z has the Lowe.  It is a heavy, but more of a second line heavy with a more sniper like gun.  That puts it in some odd situations when it is top tier in a battle and your team expects you to hold a choke point and the other team is bringing traditional brawler heavies.  It's not totally unworkable, but requires some skill to pull off.  Having said that, it makes the credits.

If you are willing to spend Lowe money and want to make credits, the FCM 50T makes the most credits in the game according to current stats.  I have one and it plays like a big medium.  I like it a lot, but it is light on armor so it is better at peek-a-boom than trading shots.  It is one of the sexiest looking and moves like a muscle car.

If you want what is considered one of the best tanks in the game, the Russian IS-6 is a good all around heavy.

Down in the $30 dollar range, both the CDC and the SuperPershing seem like fun Mediums.  The CDC has almost no armor, but it moves fast and has a great rate-of-fire gun.  It's almost like the FCM 50T's little brother. In the big picture though, American mediums are more fun than French mediums in my experience.

The Church III is a good starter tank though, makes decent credits for its Tier, has a buzzsaw for a gun and will teach good Heavy-play fundamentals.  Derpgun has it and he can speak more to its advantages/disadvantages.

Finally, any tank you pick you should keep in mind going up the tech tree it is related to because crews can be switched to and from Premiums (of same nationality and tank type, i.e. mediums, heavies..etc)  for free with no skill penalty which allows you to train crews in them.  It's too bad the Cromwell B isn't currently for sale because that works great for the Covenanter-Cromwell-Comet line.  If you wants exciting and versatile play like those fast British mediums, you could go cheap and buy the German T-25 ($10) and use it to train crews in the Panzer III/IV, VK30.01D, VK30.02M, the Panther and the Panther II (both Fish and I have gone up this line).  The latter 3 are more sniper oriented while the former two are flankers.

Here is a pretty good stat site that gives good ranking info:
http://www.vbaddict.net/statistics.php

Here is a good site for directly comparing tanks capabilities:
http://tanks.gg/wot/compare

NOTE: There are a lot of Premiums at those stats sites and in the WoT wiki that are not currently for sale.  So don't get your hopes up after seeing a stat until you confirm it is in the store on the website, or available for gold in-game.

Other notable Premiums I have acquired over the years:

T34 (available): Great U.S. brawling heavy, especially hull down.  Turret is super strong, gun is excellent though a bit slow on the reload.

M4A1 Revalorise: French Medium.  Ultimate non-TD sniper.  Gun has awesome pen and alpha, but painful reload.  Very tricky to play well, but brings in fat stacks of cash.

Panther/M10: German Medium, pretty good jack of all trades that makes good money.  Can get in over its head if played too aggressively.

Matilda IV(available): It can be fun.  Decent gun, but still Matilda slow.

Matilda Black Prince (available): Another decent tank, but turret is a liability and Matilda slow.

Excelsior(available): Kind of the British Churchill III, gun not as good, but moves better.

T14: Solid American heavy.  Armor isn't great and gun is a little inaccurate, but with a 100% crew it can carry.

The unavailable tanks do come available every once in a awhile, either on sale or as a mission reward.  One thing you might read is "preferential matchmaking".  That means a tank will only see one tier higher than it in battle instead of two.  They are trying to get away from that so I'm not sure any available tanks have it.  Oh wait, the FCM 50T does.

And if you think you might want to commit to Tank Destroyers, the SU-122-44 is considered by many to be overpowered. The Russian TD's are pretty good as a branch, guns slightly inaccurate, but not as fragile as other nations.

Right now, the best Tier 8 tank is the Skorpian G and it is on sale.  It is so good, it might actually get a nerf in a later patch.  Unless people actually get smart and start hitting them with HE.

But, it doesn't make as many credits as other Premium tanks and it is a German TD, so if you aren't getting into that line, it is "less than optimal" for your hard earned dollars, unless you are stealing them from the kids college fund.

If you don't care about training crews, but don't want to just sit back and snipe and want a good tank for platooning, then get the IS-6. If you want less brawling and more ability to reposition, then get the FCM and roll in the credits. If you want to sit behind a rock and have shots bounce off you as you deal out awesome damage, then get the T34.

One other thing, you will be made fun of in-game because you bought a tier-8 and haven't gotten past tier 5 in the grind. Especially when some jerk thinks you should have done something else and they look up your stats in order to berate you. There are "elitists" who resent "noobs" in tier 8 battles in premium tanks. If you buy a Tire 8, just be prepared to ignore them. If you have to say anything, just tell them you are farming credits. It will make them angrier and they will call you worse names and you can report them with the in-game report feature.

Well it's. Not like he can report me to wot for spending real money on an imaginary tank. They'll laugh in his face. As for him making fun of me, if I don't wear my glasses I can't read the text too well anyways. Smile Very Happy

I'm looking for a higher tier tank so when I platoon with u guys u can use your higher tier tanks, but also so I can farm credits. Really.

So I'm looking for a brawler that makes good exp and money. Tier 8 or so. Then I'll grind with the rest of my tanks. Was thinking of getting a premium account too to increase my farming ability.

I'm way behind d u guys and I want to catch up but don't have all the time off I did before.

It's probably between these three:
T34
http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:A13_T34_hvy
IS6
http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:R61_Object252
FCM
http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:F65_FCM_50t

Income(per battle): FCM, T34, Lowe, IS6
Experience(per battle): FCM, IS6, Lowe, T34
Brawling: IS6, T34, FCM, Lowe
Flexibility: FCM, IS6, T34, Lowe
Forgiving: IS6, T34, Lowe, FCM
Platooning Friendly: IS6, T34, Lowe, FCM

Out of all those, the most popular being played right now is the T34.  It is the second most played tank in the whole game.  But, it also has the lowest average Battle rating of these three.  The FCM has the highest.

Most popular to least popular of the four heavies available in the store:
T34, IS-6, Lowe, FCM 50T

Always remember that a Premium tank is usually like it's non-premium counterpart but with one thing better and one thing worse.  There are no "really good" ones.  Just some will suit your play style better.

When all is said and done, until you get experience yourself and so you don't hate the tank out of frustration, I'd recommend the IS-6.  Then the T34 and then the FCM if you want a challenge that makes buku money.  I have left out the Lowe, but it is a good tank, I just don't think it suits what you are looking for because it is a Sniper first.  I told Z to post what she thinks but I'm not sure if she is going to.

BTW, did you watch the 'maximizing credits and earning XP' video in the other WoT thread? (unfortunately the Mutz in that video is not currently available)

No. I'll go and watch those videos. I watched a bunch yesterday from the wot website. I'm leaning towards the IS-6. The sloped armor sounds great! Watched a video where a guy got top gun with 5 tanks shooting at him and all the shots bounced. But he kept his rear against a building and the only tank he was worried about was the SU-100 I believe, which blew him up. I'd get the Lowe if I wanted to snipe but the IS sounds more fun.

The Cromwell B is the premium version of the Cromwell, so it's great for training crews in that line. But it is Tier VII so, if you want a tier VIII, then go for the IS-6. We just platoon a lot in Cromwells and crusaders because they are great wolf pack tanks. If you get a regular Cromwell sooner than later it's no big deal.

The upside to that particular package is you get a 100% crew with Brothers in Arms skill and some gold.

I'm not sure if Fish has bought any Premiums, but the rest of us buy them based on what we like. I like fast, flexible tanks. Z likes tank destroyers and Derpgun likes Heavies. We all have a Tier VIII heavy for platooning. Z and I have Tier VIII mediums, I have Tier VII and lower mediums.

I never bought the Cromwell B, but if I had cash to spare I would get it though, it would kind of be a waste for me at this point because I have a 100% crew in my Crommie already.

But again, for Tier VIII money making and fun, get the IS-6
