I have officially reached a point that I have never reached before in this game.

Meaning: THis is the longest game to date that I have Ever played.

I will still crush you all.

P.S. Hugs and kisses

Now that you have reached this milestone, we don't have to feel so bad elimianting you from the game. Maybe next game you'll actually make it out of your home system!

Hey!

How do I upgrade my ships?

Do I have to dock them and then add/remove components?

I want to add a new component I just researched to my ships.

Thanks in advance for your reply!

select the ship, then click on the deconstruction icon in the bottom right (green recycle symbol with a ship). Then the retrofit tab (hammer with ship) and select the available design you want to change to. There's a limit of something like no more than a 50% change.

Alternatively, select ship and press ctrl+E.

Yeah, randallw is right, but make sure you make the new (or upgrade) design first!

Space yard?

Yes, a Space yard, and it has to be a planet one, not a base/ship space yard I think.

If you want to speed up the retrofit process, build stuff (ships/bases/sats) with repair bays and keep it around your retrofit planets. Once you give the retrofit command, all the old components are ripped out and the new components are added as if they are being repaired. Those repairs can be made by any thing with a repair bay.
